To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site — including, without limitation, lost profits, lost data, downtime, or damage to your systems caused by running code copied from the Site.
4. Comments and user-submitted content
Comments are welcome and moderated. By posting a comment, you confirm that you own the content or have the right to post it, and you grant me a non-exclusive right to display it on the Site. I reserve the right to remove any comment for any reason — spam, abuse, off-topic, or anything that makes the discussion worse. I do not pre-screen comments, and the views expressed in comments are not mine.
Be civil. Disagree on technical grounds, not on identity. No personal attacks, no doxxing, no promotion. First offense is a warning; repeat offenders get blocked at the email or IP level.
5. Licensing of the writing
All articles on the Site are © Winson Yau. You are welcome to quote short excerpts (under ~200 words) with clear attribution and a link back to the original article. For longer reprints, translations, or republication, ask first via the contact page. Generally, I will say yes — I just want to know about it.
Code snippets embedded in articles are released under the MIT License unless otherwise noted. Use them, modify them, ship them in your own product. Attribution is appreciated but not required.
6. External links
The Site links to third-party websites for context and further reading. I do not control those sites, and I am not responsible for their content, their availability, or their privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own risk.
7. Advertisements
The Site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google, not me, decides which ads appear. I do not endorse the products or services advertised, and I do not receive any special treatment in exchange for coverage. Sponsored posts, if any, are clearly labelled at the top of the article.
8. Changes to these terms
If I change these terms in a material way, the change will be noted at the top of this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after a change indicates acceptance of the new terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR. Any dispute arising from use of the Site will be resolved in the courts of Hong Kong.
